Frustrated
About 3 weeks ago, while playing the game, I was forced to change passwords by NCSoft, and to enter a character name for access. I have since received several different passwords from NC. Nothing works. They say that my character name and email are validated. But I have a dozen emails from the help saying enter this, enter that. The latest was to send them the 25 digit registration code. I found my code has exactly 23 digits. They are now saying that I have a "trial version" of Guild Wars. And to go out and buy another game with the 25 digit key. I bought my game at Comp USA and I have been playing it for months. I did not down-load any free trial. What gives?

Yeah, that sounds like the situation mentioned in the sticky about the "spooky emails."

I would however be amused if you accidentally put in the wrong serial put in the buddy key or whatever they call them these days...
however the forced to change passwords seems fishy.. |

I've never heard of them forcing anyone to change their passwords. Only thing that comes close in my mind is the red text on the GW login screen. You don't mean this do you, and chose a sort of bad way to describe it?
I also think passwords cap at 13 chars, so try entering only 13 chars, nothing above 13 characters in the password when trying to log in. |

This sounds fishy, ArenaNet would not "force"anyone to change their password, unless there was a recent and major security breach, in that case EVERYONE who has an account with ArenaNet and NCsoft would have to change their passwords, if you are haveing problems logging in the best thing to do is go to plaync.com or ncsoft.com and submit a support ticket and be sure to include the following.
Here is my account information: NCsoft master account name: ENTER ACCOUNT NAME HERE First and last name: ENTER FIRST AND LAST NAME HERE Physical Address: ENTER POSTAL MAILING ADDRESS (not e-mail address) HERE Date of birth: ENTER DATE OF BIRTH HERE Serial codes/access keys: ENTER CODES/KEYS HERE Unique Account ID(s): ENTER UNIQUE ACCOUNT ID(s) HERE then sit back and wait for an e-mail from NCsoft, otherwise there is nothing more you can do. |

Most of the time people cant get into their accounts or get hacked its quite funny because its their own stupidity... If you use some common sense there is a lot less of a chance at you being unable to log onto your account.
